Qingdao among top 10 most attractive cities for foreigners

The results of the 2022 Amazing China — The Most Attractive Chinese Cities in the Eyes of Foreign Talents survey was unveiled on Nov 13, with Qingdao ranked among the top 10 for the 12th straight year.

Conducted by the Foreign Talent Research Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the survey highlighted cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou as prominent destinations with international appeal.

Since its launch in 2010, the survey, exclusively driven by foreign professionals, has become a key gauge of a citys openness, inclusivity, growth potential, and global appeal.

Qingdaos continuous efforts to enhance recruitment policies, business environment, and administrative services have created a welcoming and secure atmosphere for foreign talent, both in terms of lifestyle and entrepreneurship.

More than 5,000 foreign individuals in Qingdao - almost half of the provinces total - now possess valid work permits, according to statistics from the Qingdao Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. Additionally, over 250 foreign expert projects in Qingdao have garnered government support for critical technological research.

Presently, an international pool of talents working in diverse sectors such as new energy, new materials, marine economy, modern agriculture, and biomedicine are collaborating with various sectors in Qingdao to propel the citys economic and social development.
